The Inverloch Community Hub - Amazon Shipwreck Display
Friday 7th April - Sunday 30th April
The Amazon 1863 Project Committee would like to inform the community of the Amazon display in the Inverloch Community Hub for the month of April.
There are some new displays, the most exciting being the list of the crew of the Amazon when the ship was wrecked on the Inverloch Surf Beach.
The Committee also have specially designed caps for sale along with copies of ‘Inverloch’s Riddle of the Amazon – When is a Bark not a Bark?’.
Amazon 1863 Project Inc AGM will take place at the Inverloch Community Hub Meeting Room on Tuesday 11th April at 11.00AM
Wednesday 19 April, Heritage Victoria will visit the Inverloch Community Hub again with Maritime Archaeologist Liam Phillips repeating his interesting August 2022 presentation on the Amazon Shipwreck.
Many people requested that this be represented.
Liam and Senior Maritime Archaeologist Danielle Wilkinson will be on hand to catalogue any artefacts the community have in their possession. Now that Covid restrictions are behind us it is important to continue the record of custodians of Amazon artefacts.
