MEET the PALAEONTOLOGISTS Jake Kotevski and Sally Hurst
Sunday 22nd February
Join South Gippsland Conservation Society to hear:
JAKE KOTEVSKI (@theropods_down_under), G’day folks! I’m an Australian palaeontologist and PhD Candidate at Monash University in the Evans EvoMorph Lab. My project (and main interest) is on the theropod dinosaur fauna of Cretaceous Victoria, a fragmentary but large record of small to medium sized Gondwanan predators.
SALLY HURST (author of soon to be released book 'Found a Fossil: Digs, Discoveries & Australia’s Deep Past'). What should you do if you find a dinosaur fossil in your backyard? How do palaeontologists discover new dinosaurs? What is dinosaur soup? Explore the stories behind fossils and heritage objects, and the importance of preserving them.
